On Friday night, the group will get together for several hours of impassioned pitching from those who came to the event with ideas. We’re lining up a great collection of top-notch speakers for Startup Weekend San Francisco 2, ranging from technologists to venture capitalists, who will also be there to talk about the external environment and offer their expertise by sharing feedback on the ideas generated that evening.

Christine Herron is a Principal with First Round Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm. Previously, Christine was a director at Omidyar Network, where she developed the Media practice strategy. Prior to Omidyar Network, Christine held operational roles with Mission Research, NetObjects, and Microsoft, and was the founder and CEO of Mercury2. She started as an investor with Geocapital Partners, where she funded early Internet and network infrastructure businesses including Netcom and AXON Networks. Christine was ranked among the Top 20 Women in Technology for 2000 by AltaVista, and has earned degrees from both Stanford University and Columbia University.

Connie Chan has been an Associate at Elevation Partners since 2005. Elevation Partners is a media and entertainment private equity firm based in Menlo Park. Connie has a strong passion for consumer Internet and consumer devices and has been a part of Elevation’s investments in Move, Forbes Media and Palm. She graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Economics and a M.S. in Management Science and Engineering.

Katherine Barr is a member of the investment team at MDV focused on Internet-enabled companies.

Prior to joining MDV, she was a Negotiator/Senior Consultant at Vantage Partners (spin-off of the Harvard Negotiation Project) helping high tech clients such as IBM, Cisco and HP to better negotiate and manage their critical business relationships (including customer, supplier, outsourcing service provider or buyer, and alliance partners).

Sabrina Parsons, currently CEO for Palo Alto Software, was previously co-founder and co-owner of an entrepreneurial business that eventually became Palo Alto Software in the UK. That company was founded in London in 2001 and was purchased by the parent company in 2002. Currently she focuses on media relations and developing strategic partnerships at Palo Alto Software. She previously was founder and co-director of a successful internet consulting company based in the Silicon Valley, with a focus on advertising, marketing, and business development. She had been Senior Producer at Epinions.com, Director of Online Marketing at Commtouch Solutions, and Marketing Manager at Encommerce, all of which were absorbed into public companies. Sabrina is the co-author of a book recently published by Entrepreneur Press, 3 Weeks To Startup. She is also the President of the Princeton Entrepreneurship Network, an alumni organization that helps support start-ups and entrepreneurs in the
Princeton community.
